No matter what you choose, you'll make new friends, gain new skills, and make change happen at New York Tech.
Student Government Association
New York Tech's Student Government Association (SGA) is the official voice of the student body. SGA advocates on behalf of student interests—academic, cultural, and special interest. SGA is charged with working with the college's faculty and administration to improve every facet of the student experience.
In addition to acting as a liaison with New York Tech's administration, SGA oversees the budgeting process for all recognized student organizations, and supports a variety of campus-wide events.
For the Students, By the Students
Joining SGA is a great way to enjoy your years in college. Become an agent of change at New York Tech and on the Long Island campus by taking on a leadership role in SGA.

Opportunities for learning…and fun!
Do you want to become a student leader? Are you interested in honing your skills in public speaking, time management, and teamwork? What about gaining real-world experience booking events and working with agents?
Or maybe you just want to have fun, make friends, and help organize entertaining, educational, and exciting experiences for you and your classmates.
To help our fellow students alleviate the stress of constant studying, we:
- Create social events that bring together anyone willing and ready to have fun!
- Host educational lectures that motivate us to achieve more.
- Sponsor community service projects that help us connect and give back to the communities where we live and study.
We organize annual campus-wide events, including Welcome Week, Spirit Week, and Mayfest. We also host a variety of smaller events throughout the year, including bingo, karaoke, and game shows; comedy and movie nights; lectures, grab&go's, and video game tournaments.
Our job is to make sure that there’s never a dull moment on campus!
