Are you feeling more anxious, stressed out, depressed or homesick than usual? Come to the Counseling Services center on your campus and talk to us. Our licensed professional counselors can help you develop the resources and practical strategies to enjoy the social and academic success you deserve.

Free and Confidential

All on-campus counseling services are confidential and free of charge. In certain cases, our staff may make a referral to an outside provider, where fees may apply. Your confidentiality is protected within the boundaries of the client/counselor relationship. Rare exceptions to confidentiality exist only if a counselor has reason to believe there is imminent danger to you or to others.

All students are required by law to submit Student Immunization Form verifying immunization against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), and Meningococcal Meningitis when they enroll at New York Tech.

Health Insurance


Effective now for the Spring 2020 semester, New York Tech will automatically enroll all students who are legally required to have health insurance in the Aetna Student Health insurance plan.

This includes:

  • F-1/J-1 VISA INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (**Not Eligible to Waive**)

On the Long Island campus, the W. Kenneth Riland Academic Health Care Center is staffed by physicians and advanced medical students from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as medical students. Come see us anytime you need primary medical care.

In Manhattan, you can go to any one of several Urgent Care Facilities if you find yourself in need of non-emergency medical care. Please call the facility closest to you to ensure they accept your health insurance prior to receiving services.
